Mintos, a financial technology startup that offers a global marketplace for investments in loans, has reached EUR 3 billion in total loans financed. This milestone comes just four months after announcing its EUR 2 billion milestone earlier this year. Mintos has also doubled the number of employees to 140 during this time and now works with over 60 alternative lending companies across the world to offer loans for investment to more than 170 000 investors globally.

Riga is named one of the top 5 cheapest cities (and only Baltic city) to relocate to and live, according to a German study by Nestpick.

The Deep Tech Atelier is a forum and a practical workshop dedicated to deep-tech start-up creation and further development. This entrepreneurship forum is a not only a place for discussion for all interested parties – entrepreneurs, scientists and technology developers,  industry representatives, investors, government and public organization. The first batch of pre-acceleration program EstLat-Accelerate has finished with two Demo Days at loud startup conferences in Riga and Tartu.

Latvian–developed shipment service “Zeew” has been recognised as the most promising start-up enterprise by the Latvian Business Angels Network (LatBAN) and Inno Energy initiative at the "Digital Freedom Festival” start-up pitch competition which took place this week.

On August 24t the Lithuanian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (LT VCA) will organize the annual summit of the Baltic private equity and venture capital market. The event venue is in the beautiful city of Druskininkai and participants will have a chance to get down to business along with networking and taking part in various summer activities.

On August 25 and 26, the very fist startup festival, called iNovuss, will take place in Riga, Latvia, bringing together the brightest minds in technology and innovation.

The festival aims to put a focus on technology and innovation and inspire both those, who are already part of the startup ecosystem, as well as those, who are considering an innovation of their own. On several stages, participants will be able to get inspired by different speakers, as well as meet local and international contacts at the creative workshops.
